PATIENTS RIGHTS

  1. Right to considerate and respectful care.
  2. Right to choose freely and change his Physician and hospital or health service institution.
  3. Right to refuse treatment to the extent permitted by law and to be informed of the medical consequences of his action.
  4. Right to obtain from his physician complete, current information concerning his diagnosis, treatment and prognosis in terms that patient can reasonably expected to understand.
  5. Right to receive from his Physician an information necessary to give informed consent prior to start of any procedure or treatment. Where medically significant and whenever alternatives for care treatment exist or when patient requests for information concerning medical alternatives, the patient has the right to such information.
  6. Right to every consideration of his privacy concerning his own medical care program and to expect that all communications and records, which pertain to his care, should be treated as confidential.
  7. Right to health education that will assist him in making informed choices about personal health and about available health services which includes information about healthy lifestyles and about method of prevention and early detection of illnesses.
  8. Right to religious assistance.
  9. Right to be informed of the hospital charges for services and available payment methods.

PATIENTS RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Respect the rights of other patients and must conduct himself in a manner that will not disrupt nor interfere with the safety of care to other patients/persons.
  2. The patient is responsible in following the treatment plan which he agreed upon.
  3. The patient is responsible to know and understand the consequences of refusing treatment or medical care plan.
  4. The patient must provide complete, truthful and accurate information such as past illnesses, medication taken, advance directives and other health care related matters.
  5. The patient should know, understand and adhere to hospital rules and regulations.
  6.  The patient is responsible for ensuring that financial obligations of his health care are fulfilled as promptly as possible.

ADMISSION POLICY

HMO MEMBERS AND CORPORATE ACCOUNTS

For patients who are HMO members or employees/dependents of companies who

have special arrangements with SPC Medical Center, who need hospital confinement, kindly proceed to the Outpatient Healthcare Services Department:

Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Saturday – Sunday 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Holidays – 6:00AM – 3:00PM

Our Healthcare Counsellors will explain to you in detail what are your hospitalization

benefits such as room entitlement, pre-existing conditions covered, hospitalization
coverage ceiling, etc. All these are dependent on the health plan or contract you have with your HMO provider.

Our Healthcare Counsellors will also secure a Letter of Authorization (LOA) from

your HMO. This LOA will also determine whether your hospital bill and other
outpatient procedures will be paid in partial or covered in full. For patients who were admitted during non- office hours, kindly see us at the Outpatient Healthcare Services Department during business hours of the following day.

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

The admission process requires that important information be gathered from the patient. All information is considered private and will be held in the strictest confidence.

Patients need to proceed to the Triage Area in the Emergency Room for evaluation and assessment.

The patient or relative should fill out the Patient Data Sheet and submit it to Admitting Section for processing. A valid government issued ID or company ID is required for confirmation.

VISITING HOURS SCHEDULE

Visiting hours for patients confined in regular rooms is from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Visiting hours for patients confined in  the ICU and other Critical Care Units (NICU, MICU, ICU, IMCU & ASU are: 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

For the welfare of the child, children below 7 years of age are not allowed to visit patients in the hospital

We encourage patients not to bring their valuables during their hospital confinement. While the hospital exerts its utmost effort to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and visitors, the hospital cannot be held liable for any loss that may occur during your stay in the hospital.
